Senator Wellstone Gets Huge "Bounce"

from Anti- War Vote

USA TODAY
October 14, 2002

An MSNBC-Zogby poll last week, after Senator Paul Wellstone (D-MN)
announced he would vote against the Gulf War resolution, suggests the decision not only didn't hurt his re-election chances but also might have helped them.

In a major reversal, the new poll showed voters choosing him over
Coleman 46% to 37%.

A similar poll last month had the Republican leading 47% to 41%.

[Poll Analysis: This is a "bounce" of +5 points for Wellstone and a
"free fall" of -10 points for Coleman. This also means "undecided" went up 5
points. If Wellstone can focus on the economy and his integrity in the
final weeks when undecided voters make up their minds, he'll win
comfortably.]

-- Hint: Also watch Jeb Bush's numbers in Florida go down, down,
down...
