UN APPROVES TIGHTENING IRAQ INSPECTIONS

Congress washed its hands of it.  The UN has signed on to a resolution that leaves the door wide open to a US attack, even if the Security Council may not endorse that attack.  Inspectors are going back to Iraq, and Iraqis may in this moment entertain slim hopes that all this could lead to the end of sanctions, the end of their nightmare.  But does anyone believe the Bush administration is willing to 'give peace a chance' even as it encircles Iraq with weapons and troops?

The only thing standing in the way of war now is astute international diplomacy and public protest.

Check back soon to endthewar.org for updates on upcoming dates for local and national protests.  Here are some dates to pencil into your calendar:  December 10-12 (DC), January 15-20 (DC?), January 25 or February ?? (NYC?), April 4 (Atlanta?).

More coming soon.
